Assistant Environmental Consultant
Humza Ahmed is a Daylight & Lighting Impact Specialist at MEC, bringing experience from both SMEs and industry-leading firms across the built environment sector. He graduated from UCL in 2021 with a degree in Geology, where he developed a strong interest in environmental and sustainability reporting.
His career has given him the opportunity to train across all aspects of Daylight & Sunlight and Lighting Impact, working on projects ranging from London residential developments to major commercial schemes. Highlights include supporting the £240M London Golf Club resort development in Kent, where he led the Lighting Impact chapter for the Environmental Statement, as well as contributing to Daylight analysis for large-scale masterplans such as Canada Water.
Since joining MEC in August 2025, Humza has been applying his rare combination of Daylight & Lighting Impact expertise to projects across the business.
Outside of work, he enjoys staying active, playing football twice a week and taking part in charity tournaments, as well as boxing and exploring the outdoors through hiking. He has already climbed Scafell Pike and Snowdon, with Ben Nevis firmly on the horizon.
