M-EC Development Technical Consultants take part in the 2nd Annual Alex's Wish Football Tournament!

On Saturday 1st July, Quorn witnessed a display of skill and determination as M-EC's finest, accompanied by Harry's (Assistant Acoustics Consultant) cousin Fin, showcased their talents at the 2nd Annual Alex's Wish football tournament. The event, organised as part of a series of fundraising initiatives, aims to generate funds to eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a relentless form of muscular dystrophy.

Alex, the son of Andy and Emma Hallam, serves as the inspiration behind this cause. Andy, known for running the successful construction consultancy Hallam Read in Leicester, has been a friend of the team for many years.

In a tightly contested group of seven teams, including Astill Planning, Fashion UK, ARD Demolition, Corporate Architecture, Eyeful Presentations, and Tassle Design, M-EC delivered an impressive performance. They emerged victorious in five matches and secured a draw in another, dominating their group with an astounding, combined goal tally of 17-3. Such a remarkable showing earned them a place in the semifinals against the formidable Hallam Read Invincibles, who had finished second in the seemingly more "competitive" alternate group. Despite a stellar defensive effort in the first half, M-EC narrowly succumbed to a 2-1 defeat. It should be noted, however, that the team that eliminated them ultimately clinched the tournament's coveted title, making M-EC's loss a testament to their strength and resilience.

The day's events showcased the footballing prowess of the participating teams and the unity and determination in the face of a common cause. Playing alongside such talented individuals and supporting the mission to combat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy was an unforgettable experience. The tournament served as a reminder of the significance of collective efforts in raising awareness and funds for critical medical research.
