Loughborough Generator Station Set for £2.5m Transformation

Loughborough Generator Station Set for £2.5m Transformation

We’re pleased to confirm we are part of the project team delivering an exciting regeneration project in Loughborough.

Our Civils team is providing the design and technical approval of external highway improvements for the £2.5m transformation of Loughborough College’s old generator station into a creative hub.

The derelict, 1930s building on Frederick Street will be regenerated into a creative space comprising workspace, multi-media arts space for live performances, restaurant/café, and 220 person venue for exhibitions, corporate events and celebrations.

Our design will give the road and footways outside the venue a much needed facelift and refresh by implementing a raised road surface, footway build-out and crossing point to serve the new entrance. This will improve not only the overall ease of use and access to the building but the look of the street scene as well.

Work began on site this month and is due for completion in early 2025. We look forward to seeing the exciting new venue take shape!

The whole project team comprises Loughborough CIC, Lindeota Architects, Messenger Construction Ltd, Messenger BCR Group, Safer Sphere, Chris Brown Structural Engineering Ltd, EP Consulting, Gillieron Scott Acoustic Design, Addison Hunt, Theatreplan, Kiwa, John Lester Partnership.
