Planning approval has been granted for our client, Bromford, for the construction of 70 affordable homes at Broomhall Lane, Worcester.

The development forms part of the wider South Worcestershire Urban Extension and will contribute to the delivery of much-needed affordable housing in the area.

Our team supported the scheme from the early concept stages through to detailed design. Our Flood Risk & Drainage team prepared the Flood Risk Assessment and drainage calculations to establish the site’s flood risk and inform the overall drainage strategy.

Building on this work, our Civils team played a key role in translating the strategy into a deliverable scheme for construction. Their work included the detailed design of the site’s highway and drainage infrastructure, including S278 highway works, S104 drainage layouts and S38 highway construction details. The team also prepared a Section 184 application, which relates to the design and approval of a new vehicular access onto the existing public highway.

The team also undertook refuse vehicle tracking to ensure the layout works operationally, alongside cut and fill analysis and site-wide earthworks assessments to understand how levels across the site could be managed efficiently. Retaining features and infrastructure coordination were also considered to support a practical and buildable design.

With the team being involved from the early concept stages, it ensures the designs support the infrastructure required to deliver the development effectively.

We look forward to supporting this scheme progress as it moves through construction.
