Were pleased to see a resolution to grant outline planning permission for up to 150 homes at Grange Farm, Coven, with our Acoustic team supporting the planning through a detailed acoustic assessment.
Our role focused on understanding the existing noise environment across the site and ensuring the proposed development could achieve suitable living conditions for future residents. This included undertaking a detailed environmental sound survey, installing monitoring equipment at key boundary locations, and assessing the dominant influences, particularly road traffic from the A449 and surrounding local roads.
Using this data, we developed an acoustic model to predict noise levels across the proposed development and identify where mitigation would be required. The assessment demonstrated that, with appropriate design measures such as standard acoustic glazing, ventilation strategies, and targeted boundary treatments, internal and external noise standards can be achieved in line with national planning guidance and British Standards.
Well done to clients, Bloor Homes and Evolve Planning & Design and the wider consultant team on a positive outcome.
