Job description

Working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

M-EC is a privately-owned, multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy, operating nationally. We serve both private and public sector clients including residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education and healthcare.

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer, who is working towards Chartership status through IStructE or ICE, to join our friendly design team based from our Leicestershire office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and passionate individual not only to utilise your established expertise, but also to work for significant clients on a variety of civil and structural engineering projects, residential development foundations and superstructures.

The position is based in Hugglescote, near Leicester. There is flexibility with some hybrid working around site, team and office commitments.

Requirements

Key skills, experience and attributes required:

  • Postgraduate experience with a BEng/MEng Degree or equivalent;

  • Design experience and structural analysis in the common structural materials - including steel, concrete, masonry and timber;

  • Design experience of mass, reinforced, piled and raft foundations;

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with Revit;

  • Proficient with relevant engineering design software including Tekla Structural Designer and TEDDS, along with an ability to produce coherent structural design calculation packages to submit to statutory bodies;

  • Capable of managing projects and workload;

  • Able to co-ordinate with clients, architects and contractors to achieve project aims; and

  • Undertake structural surveys and write accurate reports.
