Jake Poulton, a senior technician with M-EC, one of the UK’s fastest growing engineering consultancies, has been named a finalist for two awards.

The 24-year-old, who started with M-EC as an apprentice in 2012, has been named a finalist in the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce Leicestershire Business Awards Apprentice of the Year category and an East Midlands finalist in the National Apprenticeship Awards Rising Star category.

Jake Poulton, senior technician, M-EC added: “I’m really appreciative for the opportunity and the help I’ve received over the years to start my career in civil engineering. To be named a finalist in these awards is a great achievement for the whole business, it’s really a team effort.”

Jake gained experience across all departments within M-EC during his apprenticeship, progressing in his career due to his hard work and dedication and he now leads a civil engineering design team.

Eddie Mewies, managing director, M-EC said: “We entered Jake for these two awards in recognition of his achievements and progression within the company. Jake joined the company back in 2012 and has impressed us every step of the way and now leads a small team of civil engineers, which includes apprentices.”

The winners of the East Midlands Chamber Leicestershire Business Awards will be announced at a gala dinner on September 21st 2018. Regional winners of the National Apprenticeship Awards will be announced on September 13th 2018 and winners will progress to the national round.
