SENIOR PROMOTIONS AND OFFICE MOVE SIGNALS GROWTH PLANS FOR MILTON KEYNES

Senior Promotions and move to larger offices signals M-EC’s plans for growth in 2019.

Three years after it opened its office in the town, Consulting Development Engineers M-EC has announced the expansion of its team in Milton Keynes. The expansion will see M-EC’s team move to new, larger offices led by its newly promoted Regional Director, Michael Avery.

Michael’s new role will see him solely focused on leading M-EC’s Milton Keynes office and expanding the business across the South Midlands and Home Counties.

A specialist in residential development, Michael has been in the industry since 2002. He will be influential in growing M-EC’s development consultancy activity with leading architects, developers, and housebuilders across the South of England.

Specialist flood risk engineer James Gunn has also been promoted. James (right) joined M-EC’s Milton Keynes office in September 2017 and now leads the firm’s flood risk and drainage team in his new role as Associate Flood Risk Engineer.

The decision to expand the Milton Keynes office is part of M-EC’s strategic growth plan. To enable this, the firm has relocated to larger premises, a new 2,500 sq.ft office at Avebury House on Avebury Boulevard. The move will allow the company’s further expansion in 2019 and beyond, with more appointments planned for the New Year.

M-EC opened its Milton Keynes office in 2015 with just four members of staff. This has now grown to a team of 16 professionals providing expertise in civil engineering, flood risk and drainage, geo-environmental and structural engineering.

Michael Avery said: “The South East Midlands and Home Counties, particularly the Cambridge-Milton Keynes-Oxford corridor is a key focus for us and I am delighted to be leading our talented and experienced team in Milton Keynes. Over the last three years we have expanded the range of services we offer to enable us to offer support for our broad client base in the region. I am looking forward to strengthening local relationships and consulting with industry colleagues on significant construction and infrastructure projects over the coming months.”

M-EC’s decision to establish the role of Regional Directors is part of the firm’s overall expansion strategy focused on key locations. Regional Directors, such as Michael, will have significant autonomy and responsibility and will be the main point of contact on projects within their area.

Edward Mewies, M-EC’s Managing Director said: “The aim of this new management structure is to speed up delivery of client projects and drive efficiency within the business. In Milton Keynes, Michael’s leadership of the team will be instrumental in driving customer service and responsiveness as well as continuing to expand the breadth of services we offer. To open here three years ago was a significant investment for M-EC and I am therefore delighted to see the team go from strength to strength.”
