Structures - Structural Alterations and Refurbishment

The structures team have vast experience working on various structural alteration and refurbishment projects for a range of domestic extensions or loft conversions, local authority existing buildings or commercial change of use. The team also have a profound understanding of structures and a knowledge of building design and materials history.

Our team provide a fully structured approach starting with site visits to assess the current integrity of buildings’ materials and frames to ensure they are structurally sound. The team provide calculations and recommendations in line with building regulations for reconfiguring existing walls, beams, doors or lintels to ensure that any changes made will not overstress the existing building and will support the overall structural integrity of the existing building. 

Should any significant issues be highlighted, the M-EC team will provide a mitigation and temporary works strategy to outline the required work to overcome these issues.  M-EC can also provide Dilapidation surveys to truly understand a building in its current form. These surveys also identify any minor faults before any new building work goes ahead.
