Transport - Preliminary Highway Design

M-EC’s transport team are experienced in liaising with the relevant Local Authorities on Section 287 agreements to design workable, cost-effective and safe site access’ that comply with requirements and regulations to improve the highway. 

Required improvements are usually picked up during the pre-planning stages of a development. Our team work with clients and the authority to redesign sections of the highway using AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design) and AutoTrack (vehicle tracking analysis.

Designs typically include; junctions, and crossings, widening the carriageways or adding cycle paths. We also work closely with our utilities team to provide an understanding of whether telecoms, electric, water or gas services require diversion and protection during the works.
