Transport - Road Safety Audits

The team at M-EC support clients in providing Road Safety Audits for a diverse range of projects nationwide. The main objective for Road Safety Audits is to minimise future road accidents and severity once the scheme has been built and the new road comes into use.

All new developments that require major changes to the highway network are subject a road safety audits for the lifespan of the project. Road safety audits are designed to ensure that all road users have been considered, from drivers to cyclists and pedestrians to those more vulnerable such as the blind or partially sighted.

We provide road safety audits in accordance with the GG119 standard and are conducted across four stages:

  • Stage 1:  preliminary design or during pre-planning
  • Stage 2: detailed design
  • Stage 3: post-construction
  • Stage 4: a review or monitoring, usually 12 months after opening to traffic
