The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) states that a Transport Statement or Transport Assessment should support all developments that generate significant vehicle movements. This is to assess and mitigate the potential impacts of a site to promote sustainable development.
Transport Statements For smaller-scale developments, where a full Transport Assessment is not necessary, M-EC can produce a simplified version in the form of a Transport Statement. Such a report assesses the existing sustainable transport infrastructure and local highway network and the potential for encouraging transport using modes other than the private car. This report style would also establish the likely trip generation of the development proposals and comment upon the future operation of the adjoining highways.
Transport Assessments A Transport Assessment will comprise a thorough overview of the topics covered by a Transport Statement, in addition to a detailed junction capacity analysis and details/plans of any mitigation subsequently required to reduce the impact of a proposed development.
All of our statements and assessments are produced in line with the current legislation and often include us liaising with the local authorities to take into account their concerns, working to eliminate these as best we can.
