Our utilities team obtain quotes from both Statutory Providers (the leading network operators for a geographical region) and from independent providers (who can often provide more competitive options to supply the development, including multi-utility) and provide quote comparisons highlighting differences in cost and scope so that savings available can be clearly identified. We can also help to identify potential savings by combining diversion and connection works.

For developments with detailed design information available, we recommend obtaining competitive formal quotes and design information for new supplies from statutory and independent providers. This can be done at a relatively early stage to provide greater cost certainty and highlight situations where there are potential issues with capacity or lengthy reinforcement programmes where quick acceptance of quotes may be beneficial.

If construction is not imminent, quotes can be refreshed at a later date, although note that in some cases, there may be additional application fees associated with this.
