Apprenticeship Programme

MEC’s apprenticeship programme has been running for over thirteen years and has provided the foundation for many successful careers.

It offers those starting out in the industry the opportunity to gain the skills, knowledge and qualifications needed to build and progress in their career.

By joining the programme, you will gain practical experience, develop technical skills and work towards a recognised qualification, all while being part of a supportive and professional environment.

Our apprentices work across a range of disciplines within the business, and we continue to grow our apprenticeship opportunities from our Leicestershire office.

Hear from our apprentices about their journey at MEC and what it’s like to build a career while learning on the job.

What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship combines practical, on-the-job training with structured learning. Typically, apprentices split their time between work and study, allowing them to gain real experience while working towards a formal qualification.

Unlike work experience, an apprenticeship is a full-time role with a contract of employment, salary and annual leave.

What to Expect

Before starting, we will work with you to confirm key details such as your role, working hours and the team you will be part of.

Once in the role, you can expect to spend the majority of your time gaining hands-on experience, supported by dedicated study time through college or university. This balance allows you to apply what you learn in a real working environment while building your qualification.

Requirements

To become an apprentice, you must:

  • Live in the UK
  • Be aged 16 or over
