
Background and industry experience
Ben joined MEC in October 2023 as a Graduate Flood Risk Engineer. Since then, he has built on his knowledge and experience and is now an Assistant Flood Risk Engineer.
Ben has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from the University of Leicester; he then further specialised, acquiring a Master’s Degree in International Disaster Management from the University of Manchester. Ben has mostly worked on residential projects, but also some commercial and leisure developments.
Any projects you have worked on in your career that you are proud of and would like to note?
“I am proud to have worked on Riverside Park, Andover, where I worked alongside HCC to get a new park area along the River Anton.”
Outside of work, Ben goes to the gym and enjoys playing golf. He also watches a lot of sports and hangs out with friends.

What is your favourite holiday destination?
The best place I have visited is the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, climbing Mount Toubkal.
What is your favourite film?
My Neighbour Totoro.
What is your favourite thing to do at the weekend?
Play golf and go to the beer garden.
What is your favourite sport to follow?
Football.
If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tuna mayo pasta with salad
