Background and industry experience
Daniel began his journey with MEC in 2023 with previous experience as a topographical surveyor, working in a large surveying firm for a variety of different clients and ranging complexities. After developing his skills, experience and competence, he wanted to broaden his horizons into surveying in its entirety to develop his awareness of different surveying techniques and understanding of them. Daniel now has 6 years of experience within surveying and has become a well-established member of the surveying team.
Studying Geography at university and graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree (with Honours), Daniel has always had a passion for mapping and data collection, which he discovered through GIS. He now has an ambition to become a recognised surveyor through the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) whilst expanding his knowledge in different surveying practices. In line with this, Daniel obtained a ProQual Level 3 Certificate in Utility Mapping and Surveying in 2025 and is looking to continue expanding into more surveying fields in the near future.
Since joining MEC, he has thoroughly enjoyed exploring different surveying methodologies in Measured Building Surveys, Utility Surveys and developing the knowledge of UAV surveys, whilst adapting to the differences between his specialised practice of land surveying.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys relaxing on hot weather holidays, playing weekly badminton, running 5ks and getting hooked on random tv shows… He can’t wait for more Line of Duty.

What is your favourite holiday destination?
My favourite place would be Universal Studios in Florida, love the rollercoasters there, I’ve been twice and it’s really good.
What is your favourite film?
My favourite film series is definitely Star Wars, but if I had to pick an individual film, it would probably be Hot Fuzz or maybe Demolition Man.
What is your favourite thing to do at the weekend?
My favourite thing to do at the weekend are my 5k park runs, I always do one at conkers.
What is your favourite sport to follow?
My favourite sport to follow is the F1, I tend to watch it whenever it’s not in Australia, as there’s no way I’m getting up at silly o’clock to stick it on.
If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’d probably say the Five Guys Bacon Baconburger with Cajun-style fries and a chocolate Oreo milkshake… depending on the prices lol. I just love the milkshakes they do there if I’m being honest.
