Background and industry experience
Chris joined MEC on a full-time basis in 2016 after completing a summer internship within the Geo-Environmental and Flood Risk teams the previous year. Since joining, Chris has gained extensive experience within the business and was recently appointed as an Associate within the Geo-Environmental department.
Chris holds a strong background in contaminated land, completing an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from the University of Leeds in 2016. Chris took a sabbatical between 2019 and 2020, where he built upon his knowledge with a postgraduate degree in Pollution and Environmental Control from the University of Manchester. Chris has worked on a range of project sectors. These include residential, student accommodation and care homes. He’s also done work on a mixture of greenfield strategic land sites and more complex brownfield sites.
Any projects you have worked on in your career that you are proud of and would like to note?
“I particularly enjoyed working on Limeshurst Avenue, Loughborough. This was an old council depot with an underground fuel tank which required a detailed site investigation including window sample boreholes, sonic boreholes and development of a remediation strategy for addressing the hydrocarbon contamination”
Outside of work, Chris enjoys cooking and making cocktails – his signature being a Dark n Stormy.
