Jack Harriman

Flood Risk Engineer

Jack joined MEC in June 2025. He previously worked for the Lead Local Flood Authority for 5 years prior. Part of his old job was checking MEC’s flood risk assessment and drainage strategies. They were excellent even then, of course, but he likes to think they are better now! Jack graduated in Civil Engineering from Nottingham Trent University. Before working for the LLFA, Jack worked for a contractor and at a project management consultancy.

Any projects you have worked on in your career that you are proud of and would like to note?

“I worked on a residential project in Loughborough, which required surface water flooding mitigation and an alleviation scheme, and a temporary bridge at Watermead Country Park.

Outside of work, Jack enjoys reading history and fiction, as well as bird watching.

I like Greece.

Either Predator (the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger) or The Prince of Egypt

Seeing family and reading.

Football, I’m a Leicester City supporter.

Steak and kidney pudding and chips!
