Background and industry experience
Jack joined MEC in July 2022 as a Civil Engineering Apprentice. He had just finished his Professional Construction course at college. Jack stated that this was his first ‘big’ job, and everything he’s learnt has been from MEC and through his degree apprenticeship at Coventry University. He currently has one year left on his degree apprenticeship.
Jack works within the Civil Engineering discipline and has worked on many of the larger projects, such as Baldwins Gate and Balmoral Avenue Phase 1. Nicholas Road, Irthlingborough.
Any projects you have worked on in your career that you are proud of and would like to note?
“Projects I am proud of are the ones I have taken charge of and have been through the project from start to finish. For example, Long Marston was one of my first jobs I was given the responsibility to lead, so I would say I’m very proud of it as it shows how far I’ve come. A more recent project would be Bishops Court, as everything has run smoothly; we’ve remained in good contact with the client and resolved any issues quickly.”
Outside of work, Jack enjoys playing golf and attempting to enjoy watching Leicester City play. He also goes to the gym and sometimes enjoys a run depending on the whether.

What is your favourite holiday destination?
I have recently come back from one of my favourite holidays in Italy. I went to the Dolomites and Venice with my partner and the views in the Dolomites was stunning and was very rewarding for the 6:00am starts.
What is your favourite film?
I’m not a massive film fan always been more of a series person therefore I’d go with Prison Break.
What is your favourite thing to do at the weekend?
My favourite thing to do at the weekend is playing golf and attempting to enjoy watching Leicester City play. My favourite sport is by far Football.

My favourite sport is by far Football.
If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A Sunday roast.
