Background and industry experience
Nathan joined MEC in May 2024 and has nearly 11 years of experience and a strong passion for civil engineering. He studied Civil Engineering at Wolverhampton University, where he earned his HNC, and is currently working toward his ICE membership, aiming for chartership through the experienced route.
Nathan mainly works on residential projects, with some commercial experience. His expertise spans a wide range of civil engineering disciplines, with particular interest in the finer details of design, including external works and levels. Nathan has also worked extensively on commercial developments and is well-versed in preparing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and managing residential projects, including designs for S38, S104, and S278 agreements.
He is passionate about both the technical side of engineering and the business aspects, and he also enjoys mentoring and developing junior engineers, helping them grow while leading his team to success.
When asked if there are any projects that he is proud to have worked on, Nathan stated that Shropshire Heights, Loggerheads, Market Drayton was a big one. It was a 128 residential scheme, which was previously an old quarry with a multitude of site-specific problems. These included a difficult earthworks analysis and SWS pumping station. It was a really nice area with nice houses.
Outside of work, Nathan likes to play golf, watch WBA, dine with his partner, drink with mates and travel.
