Background and industry experience
Tim joined MEC in 2009 as one of the first seven employees, having worked with Alex since 2006. Tim started in the transport and planning department and worked his way through the company, becoming a director in 2018.
Tim has a degree in Environmental Management with Transport Planning from the University of Leeds. He has continued his professional development by gaining Member status with the Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation (MCIHT) and the Transport Planning Society (TPS). He’s also a great listener.
Tim has extensive knowledge of the overall business, although his experience is strongly associated with the pre-planning team; project managing Residential, Leisure, Care, Energy, Retail, Commercial, and Industrial projects.
Are there any projects you have worked on in your career that you are proud of and would like to note?
“All schemes that get planning approval and built out! One scheme in Leicestershire for 30 houses, which was my first ever appeal back in 2013. We were involved in the planning application, I was the highway witness in the public inquiry, and we also undertook the detailed design.”
Outside of work, Tim enjoys going for walks, reading and taxiing his daughters around.

What is your favourite holiday destination?
Greece. Also desperate to visit Costa Rica and South America, along with lots of other parts of Mainland Europe.
What is your favourite film?
The Place beyond the Pines.
What is your favourite thing to do at the weekend?
Spend time with my children, walk, eat out.
What is your favourite sport to follow?
I’ve supported Man City for 34 years. I also enjoy watching Motorsport.
If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Anything as long as I was sharing a table with the people closest to me.
