We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Graduate Environmental Consultant in our Brighton-based team, supporting noise and air quality assessments for a variety of developments. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful projects, develop expertise in environmental consulting, and contribute to our expanding capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS
Key role responsibilities:
- Project Delivery & Technical Work – Conduct environmental surveys, data processing, and modelling of noise and air quality emissions using CadnaA, ADMS-Roads, or similar software. Develop mitigation strategies and produce technical reports.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement – Liaise with clients, planning authorities, environmental health teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project progression.
- Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues across different disciplines to deliver comprehensive technical solutions.
- Site Work & Assessments – Undertake site visits for inspections, surveys, and investigation work, including some out-of-hours and overnight stays.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance – Ensure all work meets relevant regulations, British Standards, and best practices while adhering to MEC’s quality standards.
- Professional Development & Innovation – Stay ahead of industry developments, participate in CPD, and work towards professional accreditation with The Institute of Acoustics or similar bodies.
Key skills, experience and attributes required:
- Degree-qualified in Acoustics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of acoustics, air quality, and environmental assessments.
- Experience with CadnaA, ADMS-Roads, or similar noise/air quality modeling software is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and technical reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- A self-motivated team player with a proactive approach to work.
- Full, clean driving license with access to a car for business use
